While waterjet cutting, parts are produced without damage from heat or any type of contamination.

Most other cutting methods can damage the localized area being fabricated but this is not the case with waterjet cutting. Laser and Industrial Applications

Since there are many materials and parts which can be cut by either laser or waterjet, one method will usually emerge as the “best.” This may often come down to which process is more cost effective for a particular project. With thinner gauged materials, the laser often provides a lower cost per part and in general can hold a tighter dimensional and repeatable tolerance.
